The wine industry exists because of Lake Erie and the deep gorge known as the Grand River Valley. Each year new blood, or should I say grapes, are pumping into the region. The photo seen here to the left was taken earlier this year as my friend and I were on our way to the ice wine festival. Several prominent wineries offered ice wine sampling coupled with a wonderful menu offering to support the Harvest for Hunger fund raiser. It was cold outside but we were sure warm inside! Close by there is even a distillery for bourbon lovers.
